The best time to visit most of Indonesia is during the dry season, which generally runs from May to September. During this period, the weather is mostly sunny and dry, making it ideal for island hopping, scuba diving, and climbing volcanoes. The wet season spans from October to April, bringing frequent, heavy tropical downpours and higher humidity. While travel is still possible and landscapes are beautifully lush during the wet season, remote areas can become harder to access and sea conditions may be rougher.
